Though we’re barely into 2024, Ram has already provided the public with some insight into the 2025 Ram 1500. In fact, it’s possible that the 2025 Ram 1500 may just be one of the most exciting Ram trucks for sale yet!
According to Ram’s press release for this beloved pickup truck, “The new 2025 Ram 1500 is roaring in with a redesigned exterior, a luxurious interior, a bold new powertrain under the hood, and technology at nearly every turn.” But for the people who drive trucks, that could mean just about anything—so, what does next year's Ram 1500 promise for regular pickup truck drivers and enthusiasts?
So far, everything that Ram has disclosed is promising. With updates to power and performance, a new trim and new variations, and updated tech that makes current trucks seem like children’s toys, let's take a look at why we’re already excited about the 2025 Ram 1500...
Performance Unlike Previous
The standard engine for most of the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup will be the familiar 3.6L Pentastar V6. This trusted powerhouse is good for 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. That, in turn, translates to a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 lbs or a maximum payload of 2,300 lbs. While these aren’t “megatruck” figures, they are more than enough for many full-size truck drivers.
Starting in 2025, the Ram 1500 will be offered with two new Hurricane engine options. Developed by Stellantis—for a more powerful driving experience with few emissions and better overall fuel economy—these twin-turbo engines are among the most powerful six-cylinders available in production trucks in this segment.
The "Standard Output" engine is a 3.0L inline-six engine that turns up the power significantly. For example, the towing max for vehicles equipped with this engine is 11,560 lbs, although the weight of this beastly engine will see your max payload limit drop to 1,910 lbs. This fierce amount of towing strength is due to the excellent combination of 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque supplied by this engine.
An even more powerful "High-Output" Hurricane engine has paired with the Ram 1500’s exciting new Tungsten trim, which we’ll dive into shortly...
All Ram 1500 trucks will be equipped with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, designed to provide a better ride with better fuel economy. Each will also offer five drive modes—Normal, Tow, Snow, Sport, and Off-Road—to help drivers achieve the power and performance they need without using too much fuel. Front- and four-wheel drive models are offered as well.
For those selecting the Crew Cab on their 2025 model, Active-Level Four Corner Air Suspension will be offered. This technology drops the truck to reduce drag and improve comfort. At the same time, this improves overall efficiency when approaching highway speeds.
The 2025 Ram 1500’s New Trims
The 2025 Ram 1500 lineup will include familiar trims ranging from just the essentials to full-on luxury, including the entry-level Tradesman, the returning Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, and Limited, and the all-new Tungsten and RHO trims.
The most alluring of these trims is the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten. Billed as a premium upscale pickup truck, this trim single-handedly redefines the concept of luxury in a modern pickup. While many drivers still remember when pickup trucks that had air conditioning were considered top-shelf, the Tungsten sets the bar much, much higher.
Starting with 22-inch aluminum wheels and premium LED head and tail lamps, the Tungsten stands out from the rest of the lineup upon first glance. The interior is designed in an Indigo/Sea Salt color scheme, including platinum patina metal finishes, suede accents with Natura Plus leather upholstery, and a crystal-effective shifter center cap.
The driver and front passenger will have 24-way adjustable seats with heating, ventilation, and a massage function, along with memory features to save your favorite settings. While enjoying their custom massage, Tungsten drivers can listen to their favorite tunes on the 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere Audio System with a dedicated one-foot-wide subwoofer.
Also expected to join the Ram 1500 lineup—with appearances expected as soon as late 2024—is the Ram 1500 RHO. This is where the available High-Output Hurricane engine joins the party. Providing a whopping 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque, this engine is designed to do significant jobs, such as towing up to 10,740 lbs. More details about the Hurricane High-Output engine—and which trims it will be offered on—will be released soon.
The 2025 Ram 1500 collection will also include a hybrid electric model known as the Ramcharger, which will follow the all-electric 2024 Ram 1500 REV. Many drivers are looking forward to seeing how the all-new electrified Ram pickup truck models perform. Ram seems excited to offer details as they’re available, as well, so stay tuned for updates!
New Truck, New Tech
While standard offerings will vary depending on the trim chosen, the 2025 Ram 1500 will offer some of the most impressive available features to date. Inside and out, the flagship Ram will provide drivers with more of the things they love than ever before.
Ram has updated the 2025 Ram 1500’s lighting in several different ways. From updated LED headlamps to customizable color exterior lights, the Ram is ready to greet drivers with pizzazz. Available walk-up animation provides passengers with ground lighting carpet that helps them judge the nature of the asphalt outside their door before climbing in.
Inside, the 2025 Ram 1500 offers over 24 inches of combined available touchscreen displays; this includes an enormous 14.5-inch touchscreen, which can provide a split-screen view of two apps simultaneously. An available 10.25-inch Passenger Interactive Display allows the front seat passenger to play music and watch shows from the comfort of their own seat, without disturbing the driver’s concentration.
Adding other technology—such as the advanced Head-Up Display, digital Driver Information Cluster, and Ram’s Digital Rearview Mirror—it is possible to be surrounded by over 50 inches of digital displays while driving a 2025 Ram 1500.
Furthermore, the 2025 Ram 1500 has plans to be an actual powerhouse, with two available 110-volt power outlets that work regardless of whether the truck is on or off. When you're using tools, keeping the music going, or keeping the lights on while setting up a tent, these power outlets can help drivers in countless ways. Furthermore, a two-kilowatt inverter even allows Ram drivers to power their entire house in an emergency.
