Jim Renzo, Parts Manager at Ruge’s CDJR
May 24 2023 - Ruge's CDJR
Jim Renzo the Ruge's CDJR Parts manager is shown.

This month, we caught up with Jim Renzo, Parts Manager at Ruge’s, who has been with us for 14 years now!

Parts managers have a unique blend of responsibilities - from overseeing their team and managing inventory or both parts and accessories, to ensuring that customers are receiving stellar service. It's Jim’s responsiveness, organizational skills, and down-to-earth presence make him so effective on the job.

A lifelong Dutchess County resident, Jim was raised in Fishkill and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes in Poughkeepsie.

When did you first discover an interest in cars, and how did you end up pursuing this career?

I discovered my passion for cars at a very early age; I was probably around 5 or 6 years old. I remember playing with my matchbox cars, which I got from my great aunt. And then in high school, I worked on cars professionally when I worked at gas stations - so it seemed like a natural path for me.

What was your training like?

My training has been continuous throughout my career - from multiple manufacturers. Sometimes it is very easy, and other days training can be extremely challenging.

What do you most love about working at Ruge's?

What I most love is the work environment that the Ruge's family provides for their team. Since I started 14 years ago, they have been nothing but great!

How do you spend your free time?

I love to spend time with my family - most especially with my daughter. And I also enjoy working on my cars and riding my motorcycle. I also do volunteer work with the Girl Scouts.

If you could take a road trip anywhere in the US, where would you go?

I would take a trip on Route 66, just because I would really like to drive what's left of the “mother road”. And I would like to take a Hellcat for the ride!

Do you have any advice for a younger person who is interested in the automotive industry? My advice to a younger person that wants to be in this industry would be to always do more than what's expected of you. It’s a great field; if it’s really something you want to do, you should go for it!
